sounds like you need to buy a high-top style climbing shoe to support your weaksauce ankles.

then i suggest killing yourself.

No, I turned my ankle cause they don't fit me. Guess they weren't designed for a 6' 220lb martial artist w/ flat feet who lands like one (on the balls of his feet), at least that was my thought upon limping away.

Anyway, I found some La Sportiva's at REI that should do. I'll get them to replace the Mad Rock's.

If your interested in buying them, or have questions of any kind, let me know by emailing me at Adian@priest.com

BTW one of my other hobbies is full contact Historical European Martial Art's. Below is a vid of me doing my thing, the only bad part about it is that it was my worst performance of the day.

Other guy, the guy in the lamellar with the blue shield being called Ivan.

I have so much I plan to do to look, and fight, better on the field.

Some I have, some I don't. Some will be implemented by the next tournament. Some will have to wait till the end of the year. Much I will be making/ have made myself.

If you want to know specific's then I can give them, though they can be boring if you don't know the 'why'.

The martial artist line was thrown in there to encourage us to stop making fun of him or else.

The kneeling down thing is due to being "Legged". When in combat within the Society for Creative Anachronism, should your opponent land a good blow of sufficient force that were it a real sword you would have really lost that leg you are required to kneel. Look at this PDF (pg 12 & 13) for more info.

The 'why' for me, in this instance is this: Taking all relevant safety concern's into mind I want to look like I stepped out of 8th century Novgorod, to look like living history. That is my goal. Getting there is the hard part. I hope climbing will help.

BTW What does 'NB:" mean?

Nope. Just to explain how I screwed up, I landed like I had been trained, and not like someone wearing bouldering shoes. Someone told me 2 minutes later how to land right but it was 3 minutes too late.

Hey Tronic, nice photo. Where/What's it from?

-Sean

EDIT: We may do full contact martial art's and climb rocks, we will never be as crazy as these guy's and these other guy's.

A thought: You take on rocks. I take on people and rocks.

Both have the advantage of giving immediate results, both can cause injury if you screw up.

But children don't stare in awe at Climber's, they do stare in awe at Knight's.

Keep that in mind.

maybe it's a matter of a capacity for awe, crackling out into a world where the awesome is so often manufactured.

that and all the kids do stare in awe at that kind of climbing. even the dirtbag can look like a god when he gets off the ground.

NB means 'nota bene'- see this
