B.com, climbing, and the internet

B.com, climbing, and the internet

Postby Cardboard_Dog » Tue Mar 02, 2010 1:38 pm

I feel like ever since I took a break from climbing .. all these things have become lame. B.com? dead. 0friction? dead. General climbing fervor? dead.

Is it because I'm not out there to inspire people with my incredible psych and even more incredible physique? Is it because I was considered a GOD in the climbing community and now that my participation is minimal then .. what is the point?

Don't worry people. The snow is melting, my abs are tightening,

please hang out with more hot climbing woman and post pictures of them on 0friction. Thus spake cardboard_dog.

Chuffing generally falls into the fourth catagory of ethical behavior. Like a promiscuous female. Sure it's fun when you are drunk, but what happens when you sober up?

According to Aristotelian virtue, it is not the actions of the individual but rather their character that defines virtue. Thus, as a boulderer, your spurtclimbing actions could be definied as unethical or immoral. Sorry dood.

Niceporch,

So P is switching her focus to sport climbing? Lost that fight huh?

I have been out of the regular climbing trips for a couple years now and I just went to Rocktown for the first time in months and months. It was a perfect 50 degree day, the first clear Saturday in weeks. There were like 8 cars. Empty. Wtf? Is some other retarded sport cool now? I sure hope bouldering popularity is on the downswing.

Naw, there was a comp down in B'ham so all the comptards were away. HP40 was pretty empty as well. Come to chatty this weekend, another comp at HP40 should draw the people away again.

looking back on bouldering (and much less climbing), the top echelon (sharmas, etc) just seem like the epitome of .. gross. the mags, etc. the competitions, the 8a.nu. it even bleeds to many of the members on here. just disgusting, gross, self-centered, shitty people. i mean, i met a few cool people on here. but the really "Internety" ones just made/make me sick.

so leaving bouldering was like wiping the shit off my shoes. a clean break from just an absolutely gross, inbred, mostly ignorant uneducated community.
