Spurs need Amare. That's the long and short of it. They need the cut and slash inside style of play he could bring to balance out Tim Duncan's stoic inside game. The Spurs can't compete against younger teams for Playoffs that are all 5 of 7.

LeBron is too swole. He just needs a Pippen.

I like Kobe on the Lakers. Elevate the game go hard with yo'self. I prefer to watch the superstar glide all over fools like a sugar glider in Nikes.

This off season is going to be a shakeup... and the playoffs are going to be sweet.

agree for sure. Amare would be amazing on the Spurs. interior offense to go with Duncan's interior+perimeter scoring. it'd be sick. 2 proven elements.

Lebron is out of control swole. he attract players. people want to be on that team.

i love talking NBA. and i don't consider things that bolster my well being (last night withstanding) to be superficial or shallow. but i seeing as this forum crosses a decent spectrum of people, even international, i'd like to dig a bit deeper. like what happened yesterday.

on the surface, a man lost his mind, was committed to committing suicide and took this out in the form of a "Kamikaze" action. my concern is that this event gets portrayed as a "crazy man kills self while trying to kill others".

these suicidal actions are .. are what? on the upswing? we know the root causes, there is a common thread with all the actions from McVeigh, 9/11 hijackers, Fort Irwin and yesterday. let's get some REAL and personal ideas on what is going on here. why?

well, i am very concerned that .. well fuck, it's not isolated. i gave several examples. my concern is that it's on the upswing. we are trendy country and people are less contented with their lives and i think we're going to an increase in the frequency of this. sure, we'll see more.. it's the regularity.

so, commonality, root causes, methods (non-violent) for change. those are the things that need discussing. and the only way to get non-violent change in this country is through the people, US. we, supposedly, are the government. but we are terribly divided.. so how do we unify ? what are the ties that bind? how do we get to a point where we the people can affect the changes in 'our' government that make it a positive force?

these fucking asshole bastards like McVeigh and 9/11 guys.. they don't do fucking god damned bit of good. they just piss off the powers that be - which are totally insane on power and running with it. instead of positive change, they just cause the screws to get turned on tighter. NOT GOOD. which in turn pisses more people off. a vicious cycle.

we need to unify. bottom line. get 'our' government to a place where there's ample give and take. no more of this "abortion" "gun rights" puppet stringing of us. that shit divides us. and things like 9/11 don't cause the desired change in 'our' government.

Obama was supposed to be a great unifier and he is clearly the most divisive president in a long fucking time. but it's not just the executive, it's the legislative and moreover, THE FUCKING POLICIES.

what is the end goal? where do we want to be? how do we get there?

those 3 letters don't mean anything to me.

wait, are you calling me a "Stupid Mother Phucker"?

FBI formally closes anthrax investigation
Lone suspect in deadly 2001 mailings killed himself in 2008

After Ivins' suicide, FBI Director Robert Mueller said the investigation found Ivins was the culprit, and prosecutors said they were confident he acted alone.

alone, but not isolated. again, there's a common thread here in motivations and end goals. yet their means only intensifies what they perceive / project as problems. their actions aren't making it better, they're making it worse.

so let's say we see one suicidal whack-O commit an act of terrorism (note: there's no real distinction between what the media calls "domestic" terrorism and just regular old Jihadi terrorism.. it's just terrorism.. same motivation, same desired end goal). ok, one a week. or less.. one a month.. or even less.. one a year. what is the net effect?

well, it winds up being even more government control - the same government we the people are supposed to be in control of. you get enough of these "ISOLATED" incidences and *POOF!* all of a sudden everything we the people took as freedoms and liberties has vanished.

do the math: attack a train, attack a theme park, attack a sporting event or a national park... all of a sudden we are shuttered in by a wall of "emergency enacted decrees" that eventually meld into law. all because the fuck nuts are so pissed at the government that they go out and attempt mass murder.

seriously, how many more of these are we gonna see this year? how will the government react? what type of legislation do you see being enacted 'cuz of this dude flying his plane into the building?

SMP = Smoke More Pot

The government doesn't trust the citizens to know what's best for them... so all you really can do is subvert their freedom-restricting agenda. Because as you point out, it's coming. After McVeigh it was metal detectors at federal buildings. After 911 we got the DHS. After the underpants bomber, we get full body scans. And, making people feel safe is a costly exercise in futility. "Terrorists" will always be able to exploit weaknesses in our security system. We just create an increasingly costly and massive nanny-state to make us FEEL better.

The problem is, people from all parts of the spectrum are demanding this. Think about 911. 3,000 people? What is that like a statistical blip in our 300 million people population? Yet we're paying billions a year to ensure it doesn't happen again, while like 50,000 people die in cars every year. Brutal.

And there is no answer, because people will make demands from government and the government will try to "serve" the people bu meeting those demands. So really, just contribute to the free-est (black) market in the U.S., grab a fat sack and smoke a fat fuck you to the feds. It helps a LOT...
