Aussies

Postby Cardboard_Dog » Wed Jan 27, 2010 1:24 pm

Just saw some amazing footage of a beach and island littered with huge boulders. Hinchinbrook island?? couldn't find any info on google and was wondering if it was well known bouldering spot?

Nooo .. read about Magnetic. It's in North Queensland so it's close to that but it's littered with boulders that resemble Virgin Gorda. Maybe it's still undeveloped?

All I could find. Mt. Bowen is like a week trek? But I guess a large majority of the boulders would be in the jungle. Close to the beach but still in the jungle which is less than ideal. Oh well.

can you even FUCKING believe this? not like Aussies have much to be proud. i mean, they're universally considered boors. i don't even think could fit in the raunchiest ghettos here in the U.S. of A.

but this? i mean what, you got like 3 groups that ever did a damn thing. and don't bring up Olivia "fig" Newton John. please.. and now some shiteater lawyer goes and throws a lawsuit on "Men At Work"? what in the fucking fuck is that?!?

Court: ’80s hit ‘Down Under’ copies kids’ song
Men at Work infringed on song written by Australian teacher, judge says

SYDNEY - Australian band Men at Work copied a well-known children’s campfire song for the flute melody in its 1980s hit “Down Under” and owes the owner years of royalties, a court ruled Thursday.

“Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree” was written more than 70 years ago by Australian teacher Marion Sinclair for a Girl Guides competition, and the song has been a favorite around campfires from New Zealand to Canada.

The teacher died in 1988, and publishing company Larrikin Music owns the copyright to her song about the native Australian bird. Larrikin filed the copyright lawsuit last year

you gotta listen to the dam kookaburra song. some dim whitted wind bag of a judge actually thinks it resembles "Down Under".

TOTALLY reminds of that "The Simpson's" episode where all these Aussie judges get together and figure

Taj goes way back.. he was the next big thing after the [TOTALLY FUCKING!!!] abysmal failures of Nicky Wood and Jason Buttonshaw in the early 90 to mid 90's. very touted. and very talented.

this one aussie bloke i knew, we had a bit of a chat one night on the subject.. back around '98. i told him Taj would never win the world title and he thought he would. he's been on the ASP tour for over 12 years now and one thing is for fucking damn sure 'bout the tour and that is starting off hot is BIG HUGE FUCKING deal.

and this is the first big comp of the year, but he won a lower ranking ASP (WQS) event last month... and won the Pipeline Masters in December. so he's won the last 3 contests he's entered. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... that certainly gives one cause to pause and ponder the possibility that this could be it for the portly dude.

check out my boy Dane Reynolds from Ventura.. considered the best free surfer in the world right now.. but has the commitment of a true Venturan.. the "FAST FACTS" section of his profile on ASPworldtour.com

pretty sheisty for the accolades bestowed upon him. hmmmm..
