Too bad their recommended daily intake is 12 pills. All the ingredients can be found much cheaper in other supplements.

Uhhh, yeh... and you can make everything at home that you eat at restaurants, but you don't.

6 a day for the whole bottle did me right without having to research a bunch of shit and find all kind of ingredients.

Yeah it is pretty hard to take a good one a day multi vitamin and glucosamine. Theres nothing special in them. Save yourself alot of money and the pain of taking 6-12 caps a day.

i've always wondered if any of those studies on one brand having a more efficient absorbency were bullshit or not.

however, most of them point to your generic one a day being pissed out pretty soon after you take them. if the colors i see after i take a vitamin are any indication i'm at least not keeping in a lot of those b vitamins.

i should ask my girlfriend's jewish naturopathic doctor parents. i'll get back on that.

Most are bullshit. Absorption is limited by what your body needs, your renal clearance and the fact that many of the vitamins that you are taking are water soluble doesnt help. Your body simple cant utilize all the vitamins before most of them are excreted. The more important studies are of content. 99% of the herbal supplements have never been tested for their true content. Many of the ones that have been tested are found to not even contain or have much less of the active ingredient than stated on the label. I tend to go for the USP stamp supplements because they have undergone rigorous outside trials to test for content. They are hard to find though.Nutriex is a good company It's just that I can buy a years supply of all the same vitamins for the same price as a 40 day sample of Nutriex. I also have trouble choking down 6-12 pills a day so just having to take 2 is great. Choose what you will.

So... the generic ones may or may not be what is on the label, and you should only take the higher priced USP stamped supplements from companies you trust. And Nutriex is a reputable company.

But, you shouldn't take Nutriex because you can't take 3-6 a day for twice as long and generic supplements are cheaper.

Sounds like a conflicting message to me. I'll say this:

I know a lot of people who have taken OTC glucosamine and multivitamin complexes. I even take a daily multi and have done the glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM/Fish Oil supplements before. I have never had the results I have had with Nutriex. It was recommended to me by STFU. I would only recommend this product if I felt it was different and better than a Centrum Silver and a Glucosamine supplement. If you have an injury and $50, it's a pretty good way to speed healing. Plus, they often send you the Fish Oil Omega 3 as a bonus with your order.

I do multi-vitamin + glucosamine chondrotin + fish oil every day and have so for about a year. Over the last 5 years, the only one that I've taken almost every day is the fish oil. I can say that I 'feel' better when I'm taking all daily, and I've had fewer injuries during that time despite climbing a lot.

However, my technique has gotten much better than it was in the years preceding those five, so it's hard to assign direct cause-effect.

When I've got an especially challenging day/I feel sick, I take 1000mg of Vitamin C in addition. Can't do this every day, though, for overdoing Vit C can lead to anemia.

The problem with Nutriex is that in order to get a therapeutic dose of glucosamine(1500 mg) as well as many of the other ingredients you need to take 9 pills daily. If you have the stomach and wallet for that then go right ahead. I prefer to only take two and get the same amount for cheaper.Never did I recommend taking the rite aid generics either, its just that many of the USP brand names can be a tenth the cost. Take whatever you think works though. As long as its a reputable company they all have the same stuff in them. There is no special ingredient that Nutriex uses.
