I've surfed once in my life. But I am smart enough and have a strong enough sense of aesthetics to recognize when something difficult and beautiful is happening and deserves my attention.

Your comments are not amongst the stimuli to which I'm referring.

Yea dude, totally. It's so bullshit when people appreciate the skills of someone else. I mean, for serious. That's so poseur. I'll go eat some shit now.

hweight, as all shiteaters, your hypocrisy blinds you.

i was merely being a pardody of every single shiteater on here when i've posted links to surf contests. their responses are parroted ad nauseum. i was just being like YOU / ALL OF YOU.

you come on here with some whining self-righteous blather about my comments.. when they are nothing more than a mirror reflection of YOURS.

what i said IS true, tho i wouldn't have said it in a difference context (i.e., out of b.shiteater). shiteaters like skav and malachi like to say things like "Go big or go home".. feigning some tangential relationship to sport and / or culture they simple know nothing of, except what they've seen on MTV's "The Real World".

and this contest of all of them.. lols. BIG WAVES BRO!!!

the reality? there was some bad ass bombs ridden in that contest. Greg Long's macking closeout nightmarish. the stuff nightmares are made of. an in-water shot of that would be insane. 35' of bowling water. slater's ride through the shore was the best wave i saw ridden.

as for eddie.. c'mon, sugar cubes on your neck? in shark infested waters? i mean, that is like lunch and dinner for a shark. big mistake, eddie.

wb,

Fine, I failed to see parody. Yet, please consider that your record as a source for some intensely derisive and divisive comments on this site might affect anyone's ability to view your comments as satirical instead of inflammatory and derogatory.

Furthermore, I agree with you: a part of b.com is the constant flaming and flogging of other members' enthusiams. As a member, you've been subject to such commentary, as have all of us. Based on my reading some of your retorts, though, you seem to take some of these flames personally, but when someone calls you out for a similar act of aggression committed by you, you claim that you're being satirical. There's a double-standard at work there, and one that's not necessarily a part of the communally-derived values at work on the board every day.

The irony here is that every comment here--"serious" or not--can be read ironically. Every attack that you've elicited and initiated has been ironic to someone. The key, I think, isn't to view any of them as plaintive or ironic, but as simultaneously both. Such is the appeal of lolcats, or "This is Why You're Fat," or virtually any other site mentioned here. They're fun because they're frivolous AND important to us.

I think that tension/conflict is the fun and attractive part of the board. And of bouldering. And surfing. And virtually any other activity that we find fulfilling in a way that's beyond the basic necessities.

I've never surfed anything even close to that size (I get shit scared once it gets overhead to be honest), but I don't think you have to have paddled out into triple overhead madness to realize how fucking amazing that was.

Yeah, but what kind of b.com thread would it be without the ultimate armchair cowboy, WB, telling you how much of a "poseur" you are...

That's so totally true. Because I saw these dudes doing your mom and I was like, "I would like to do that also."

My insults are better than your insults because mom jokes always win.

I think you're confused, wb. I've never said "go big or go home". What you probably misheard was "go fuck yourself".

as good as "The Eddie" was.. the Pipe Master contest is, imo, the best spectator surf contest. Michael Picon (Fra) just lit up the joint (and will prolly literally light up a joint - pakalolo, bra).

early tomorrow, it's 'sposed to be smaller. then pick up later in the day. the next day is s'posed to be macking. this shit is so gladiator.

AND NO, I COULDN'T TOUCH THIS SURF.
