Cop kills man in Times Square shootout

The sergeant pursued, and the man turned and fired with a stolen Mac-10 machine pistol that held 30 rounds; he got off two shots before it jammed, police said. The officer fired four times, striking the suspect in the chest and arm and killing him, Kelly said.

The slain man was not immediately identified. Officers suspected him and his partner were working a scam in which they would approach tourists, ask them their names, then write their names on the CDs and demand payment of $10.

The suspect had been wanted for assault in the Bronx, but the officer approached him because he was recognized as an aggressive panhandler, authorities said. There were 27 live rounds left in his gun, which had been reported stolen in Virginia, authorities said.

jesus christ you are a fucking retard. It turns out that it just happens that islam predated any national political system in the middle east by, oh say, 1000 years. Thats why you see religious homogeneity in those countries. Beyond that, alot of the "islamic" regimes you're talking about are actually secular nations with small but legally protected religious minority communities (i.e. christian, jewish, hindu, etc.). Saying that islam is a political system is like saying that Christianity is a political system in the west. Certainly Chrisitians are the majority in most western countries, and Christianity plays some role in government (i.e. the list of non protestant presidents is very short, i.e. 1), but that doesn't mean that Jesus is Americas political system, or that Christianity has anything to do with national identity. Just please, start reading books.
