Cmon, Ask Slim Anything

Why is administering SAS such a pain in my ass?

"A metadata repository is a physical location in which a collection of related metadata
objects is stored. Metadata repositories are managed by a repository manager, which is
a library of tables that define the set of repositories that can be accessed by a SAS
Metadata Server. A metadata server cannot be started without a repository manager.
Each metadata server can have only one repository manager"

Because you are no good at it. If you were competent, it wouldn't be difficult.

Dear slim,

if you were going to use an analogy to illustrate your relationship to niceporch, what would it be?

thanks,

I thought about this one for a while. But really I have no relationship with niceporch because he makes opposite choices than I do. Weather looking great this weekend? I'm out climbing and porchie is in Mississippi looking out his window at the bayou. Weather looks like rain? Niceporch is sitting at HP40 getting wet while I'm at home enjoying the rain from my porch. LRC looking prime on Sunday? Im there. Porchie? Boatrock. So basically porchie is the weird misguided brother of the chick my cousin hooked up with that I never see cuz he's so fucking confused about shit.

No I didn't. I'm not sure I would live very long if I did.

I love many bikes, and would have a hard time choosing just ONE. However if somebody put a gun to my head and made me choose ONE I guess I'd go for the Ducati Hypermotard just because it sounds badass, looks cool as shit, and goes like stink around corners. And you could jump it. HooliganBike4TEHwin

I'm a critical person and run into this issue a lot. If you are always critical about things people will call you negative because you always looking seem to be looking for faults in whatever you are critiquing. I have learned to say good things as well as the bad so that you don't look so one-sided.

If a friend recommends we try a restaurant that he likes and we go there and it sucks, no longer will I get in an argument about the quality of food and tell that person that they don't know shit and or have bad taste. I will just take that person to a spot that does that food type BETTER. Then they will have to admit that their restaurant just wasn't as good and they will be pleased that they have a new spot to enjoy. Plus it adds to MY credibility and in the future they will take my recommendations to heart because of past good experiences. If you don't build your credibility then you always look like the douchey punk who only has bad things to say.

Musically I'm very picky too, but I don't even entertain most people with my opinions anymore because shit everybody's different. If you like some whiney bitch-made "songwriter" more power to you. You won't be taking my favorite lounge chair at the jazz bar.

As to the PS I gots my knowledge through reading voraciously early on in life, having the opportunity of living overseas and speaking with people from all cultures, and traveling as much as possible. And trying to be open minded and trying new things the whole time. Easy!
