Very nice. Yes I have a few bikes set up like this with front rack, fenders and townie bars. leet. Careful locking your bike like that! The U lock through the back wheel, within the rear triangle, would be more secure for starters... What are those cranks?

ha, lol, that raleigh is not mine, just an example of what i want to do with my Bridgestone.

i think i want that handlebar set up and a fat ass seat like that one. maybe the slightly smaller touring version.

just not totally certain about those exact bars, although they are in the front of the list right now.

i kinda like the shallow wire basket instead of the heavy duty front rack.

plus, duh. evrybody knows the best way to lock a bike is by the front wheel!

scott at4s. probably the coolest bars ever. the next level of bar ends, so much so they closed the loop, all the way around. 360degree bar coverage. really, that was a nice bar.

I want to like it but I'm having a tough time. Need to see it in a race. I would love those saddles if they weren't made with plastic. Frame is great... little seat post is lame.

everybody knows that silicone dildobars make your steering all sloppy.

this is the perfect application for the classic silver bullet.

plus, the chrome finish goes better with my rims.

Longer stem sometimes helps. You'll find the steering twitchier with the city bars. Front load adds power steering. What bridgestone?

Not my frame. I wish I had the cash. It's an all carbon prototype from Evil Bikes.

And no flat. The nipple was rattling around the wheel beneath the rim strip.

Just see what's more comfortable/better for you. Depends on bike and rider.
They are two different bikes. I built the rack for my old Raleigh and changed the handlebars to convert it to a city bike. I wanted an upright ride and I got it. Great for beer run or short commutes and chilled out coasting. Not great for long rides. Got to like it and then built that other frame, fork, stem, and rack. It's tailored to my measurements so its very comfortable and the flat bars allow for several positions while still having access to the brake. Its a fast bike with heavy cargo capabilities and fenders. Fenders are nice for commuting.
I sawed off the flat bars to shorten them for better leg clearance and overall flow. Yup.

thanks for tolerating my noob questions.

i think flat is probably the way for me to go. i just want an option that would get me sitting up more.

any thoughts on priest/pope bars?

All in your preference I think. I rode some cheap knock-offs of a similar style for a while before I settled with the promenades.

They felt more mountain bikey. think they'd be nice on a fixed.

nice photo.

tried to order some Milano bars from VO,

but they don't take american express....

so i just ordered some Map / Ahearne - All Rounder bars from Ben's.

plus Ben's had the city levers in stock.

these are pope-like with a little rise and some room for grips and levers.

i figured that i really want to charge around town - as opposed to promenading -

and that i was tired of having my hands on the hoods

and braking in that inefficient style.

a little more upright is a bonus.

funny- that is the exact setup i had running, circa 1995, including pink tape.

those were the thing for bulldozing through alder thickets.

++ bmx brake levers and deore thumb shifters run upside down. what a time, when one could take a shifter apart and put it back together.
