my favorite fable is the one where the guy that thinks he's looking all good in his new threads is really just walking around naked because nobody wants to ruin his day by telling him otherwise. did you get me a fake rolex or what?

shockingly, it sounds like you did NYC pretty much right.
especially if the place in the East Village was Momofuku.

don't you hate it when the girl that shows up at your door is not the same girl that was in the picture?

Here's a true story about the Gunks: I on-sighted New Pair of Glasses. Fucking hiked it.

As for Central Park, no Ivan spotted. But I did send like all three problems there. So sick. After that I spent the majority of my time admiring some of the world's greatest paintings and fucking my hot girlfriend. Also, I navigated the subway system without incident. It was surprisingly peaceful. I ate a lamb gyro served up by a Mexican street vendor. In a small park in Chinatown, I sat on a rock to eat cheap, greasy dumplings and watch old people play music. In a swanky Manhattan bar, I got drunk on $20 martinis. I saw model chicks on 5th Avenue. DOUBLE-TAKE. I fought my way through hordes, fucking hordes, of hipsters to settle down for dinner at an intimate Korean restaurant in the East Village. I stopped in the Soho REI to pee and try on climbing shoes. I had delicious raw oysters at the Grand Central Oyster Bar. We sat next to a rich old Asian man having dinner with two blond hookers who looked like they had had a lot of plastic surgery. I gave him imaginary knuckles. I enjoyed watching the penguins swim at the Central Park Zoo. At the top of the Rock, it was windy and cold. I took someone's picture. Everywhere, people were friendly. In Bloomingdale's, I saw a t-shirt I liked. It cost $275. I didn't buy that t-shirt. I picked up a pair of Italian leather boots that cost $1,300. They laced in the back. Guess I'll have to stick with my lame front-lacing boots for a while. Probably the best part was riding the subway and feeling deeply a part of something bigger than I could comprehend or imagine. Or maybe it was the luxury of eating free croissants at the hotel. Laughing in a cab with awesome people. I don't know. Maybe there was no best part. Maybe that's like trying to find the best blade of grass in Christina's World ... which I did.

Not a bad trip at all.

i believe the part about peeing in REI. But thats it.

I went to REI and asked if they'd seen Niceporch. They looked at me blankly then said that they didn't think that they stocked those.
