Wet morning. Also, I have decided to put together my ultrasuspensiony specialized stumpjumper. It's been sitting unused and in disarray for about four years. It needs some love.

Nice, post pics of the build.

You peicing it together or just tuning it up...?

It's this bike here. I think...I don't remember the specific year in which I purchased it.

Really, it just needs some tuning and a few components. Stole the pedals for my roadie. Gotta find where I put the seatpost/seat. Probably needs some work on the hydro-disc brakes. I'd like to get new discs entirely because these ones squeaked a horrible sound. Also, I imagine the shocks need some sort of work after having not been used for four years.

Projects are great, but I don't have a need for that. The components are solid enough. However, I would spend money on a new fork suspension. The Fox in the rear is outstanding, but I've had nothing but trouble with the Manitou Black fork. I had driven a few hours (back in the day!) to a park in Wisconsin. Got on the trail and the fucker lost all suspensionization. Useless. Sent it back for repairs, got it back, but it never really felt right. Suggestions on a new one?

My RS Reba Race is reliable as hell. Really easy to work on. Haven't had any problems, etc. The remote lockout isn't really needed for the pressures I run but I'm sure it could be useful if you're into that sort of thing. Not sure if they make it in kid size though. If I was made of time and money like you are I'd buy a White Brothers.

That comment was made after riding my bike to work. I hate the bike commuters in this city.

The morning at the Y, some moron locked their bike through my bike at the rack, & didn't respond to pages, so I flatted both their tires and took their pump. I had to walk home & was late to work, so now they can be too.
My question is: Was I too intolerant of their stupid mistakes?

Sure, but it's my beater bike. There's almost nothing they can do to it to make it worse or that I can't fix.

Cutting their lock would be totally ethical. Usually a bored security guard will jump at the opportunity.

It holds pages together. Also works as a brake cable hanger that mounts on the seat pin. Note the nut adjusting barrel are both slotted. Try finding that in the intrawebs...
