Well done sir.

Question... did that second course work? I'd have thought the scallops would be lost...

That and the quail were my favorites I think.

The cauliflower for crunch. The currants for sweetness. The Veloute for savory. The scallop was perfectly seared. Yes it worked beautifully. But the veloute was only a small quantity, applied to the plate with a squeeze bottle and not to the scallop. So it was just a touch of curry really. These courses were tiny obviously.

If anything, the lamb was the one dish where the flavor of the meat did not shine through the accompaniments. The black truffle riso nero combined with the reduced sherry were a powerful flavor that overpowered the lamb... even though it was farm raised and quite gamey as far as lamb goes. But still delicious overall.

My only real complaint is the heaviness of the entire meal as a whole. Foie gras, pork belly, quail and lamb. No salad or other light course... But whatever. It was overall top five meals I have experienced.

I fucking hate business lunches.
And this one was the worst yet. Worse than the time a client took me to the TGI Fridays at the Indianapolis Airport.

Who the fuck takes a business contact to a fucking organic vegetarian mexican restaurant?!?! Seriously... mexican food with no meat, no fat, no salt... like eating the scraps left over from prepping a real meal. Gross.
