San Diego area climbing

Postby skav » Thu Jan 13, 2011 2:36 am

I'm gonna be spending 3 weeks working out in Ramona, CA and will have a couple days off here and there. Where's the good shit? Bouldering, sport, gear, whatever. Give me the spraydown.

Lox offers the best beta so far.

Only "Rainbow" area I've found is up near Tahoe.

Looks like Woodson is the closest to where I'll be staying and I'm sure bvb has way more useful info on that than any of you. Might be able to make it out somewhere further, but if that place is half as good as I've heard I should be happy.

Julian has some great boulders. Weird knife edge topouts.

Woodson tomorrow.

Obligatory "how do you know about the topouts" joke.

Ike: No. Been too busy blowing up boulders to get away for more than an afternoon and am more concerned with trying to rehab my hip. I'll be here on and off until April tho.

Until April or through? I move back to LA at the beginning of April.
You could always go to Black Mt, you know. Two hour drive, easy day trips, endless boulders.

I think we need to be done and gone by the 12th of April. I'll keep you posted.

Biggest issue is that I don't have my own vehicle out here. Solo drives aren't an option.
