I used dodging to bring out some light from the original, but I could only pull so much detail from the low light and creeping grain from the high ISO. And they are river otters. :]

I haven't in quite a long time screwed around with my photos. I post them as is. But I went out last night photographing and decided to play around with some postprocessing. Basic stuff through Picasa. Didn't use Lightroom or other more advanced software.

The bridge was standard B&W filter with a color transition at a certain point. Tunnel was a bit of shadowing and highlighting adjustments and then a big tint shift.

Obviously different photo, but more or less what it started off as.

Due to $400 rebate for kit, makes getting the older version used less appealing. We are heading to Alaska in June, so I'm hoping this lens will perform... I'm sure it will. Excited...
