Local joint. They served a lemonade that was delicious. Fresh squeezed, bubbles, and possibly some curd. The only equivalent drink I could think of is a Sprite, but this was so much more pleasing than a soda.

This didn't come out as I had hoped. "Drink Coffee. Do stupid things faster with more energy." I laughed.

I have never once posted a picture altered in photoshop in any way.

If you are referring to the blur it's a 60mm macro lens shot wide open in my dim kitchen. Extremely narrow DOF.

The brisket was a success. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. There was room for improvement though.

This was a 15 pounder untrimmed, dry rubbed, fat up, not flipped, and rested in a cooler for 3 hours. I cut the point off the flat and returned the point to the smoker for an additional 4-5 hours in order to make good burnt ends. This was by far the best meat... It all got devoured by 6 people, so yeah. People were picking the little burnt bits off the cutting board after the meat was gone.

I'm doing this again as soon as possible. Makes beef ribs pointless IMO.

Are you on vacation in the tropics? Not a boulder in sight! Food looks gooood. What's curd?

Green and red chile smothered enchiladas with posole and pinto beans and white and yellow cheddar! We grew the green chiles. I made the red sauce with some powder I'd been hoarding. We copied a dish we love from The Shed Restaurant in Santa Fe. Naps happened.

I'm on a business trip in far southern India, Trivandrum. It's tropical all of the days. But only three such days remain. :( Aside from having to do work, it's like a vacation. There's also some boulders around, but they're not worthy of shoes or pads. Just a little slabventuring.

And the food is goooood. Last night I engorged on grilled ocean critters. But I said to the grillmaster, "spicy!" Apparently he thought I meant American spicy. I meant local spicy!
