London, UK

Postby Ikefromla » Tue Aug 31, 2010 3:56 am

I am leaving tomorrow and will be there for quite a while. Wish me luck, and hook me up if you have any contacts in Europe.

I'll try to make all you Americans proud.

peace out.

Really? I wasn't there that long, but I found it was just full of the kind of Americans who give Americans a bad name. The fact that they were immensely stoned did not make them any less unbearable.

Edit: just to clarify - I have an equally low opinion of any place where a whole bunch of white trash Australians congregate - Kuta in Bali, for example.

I know a bunch of people in and around London.

Consensus among them is that England sucks.

So I was detained at Heathrow for 4 fucking hours yesterday. Eventually they let me go, as they had no legitimate reason to keep me, but what a fucking experience. Holding room smelled fucking horrible due to the Pakistani dudes who had been there for over 24 hours.

I mean, FUCK.

but our "flat" is cool, so that's nice.

All depends on WHERE in A'dam you are.
Yeah... Red Light District and such tend to be full of lame-ass frat boy morons etc.
But other parts of the city are excellent.

Yeah, I'm in Hackney. London Fields, to be specific. Walked up Mare Street from our flat to where I took that photo.

Thanks. I'll try to hit them all this week, if it's possible.

Had dinner the other night at the Viet Grill in Shoreditch on Kingsland Road, just up from the intersection with Shoreditch High Street. Your recommendations seem very sound.
