I can see!
Clearly for about 5 ft
Pretty well for about 25 ft (and my doc says it's probably gonna stay there for the next 2 to 3 months)
After that, the world is a blur, literally
Oh, and this is in my good eye. (The other is blind.)
Right before vacation, the wind managed to blow a piece of fiberglass between my contact lens and my eye.
Doc says it's not that uncommon now that they're doing these comfortable lenses. It's comfortable cause there's a layer of gel between your sensitive eye and the mean and scratchy lens. My suggestion to those who are eligible: get LASIK.
Anyway, fiberglass pierced the center of my good eye, and I spent my 2 week Colorado vacation going to docs to try to figure out what was up (my eye was so inflamed, they couldn't see the fiberglass). And then two laser "procedures" where they shot a laser into my eye to vaporize it. And then after that, checkups to make sure they got it all, etc. Fun vacation, right?
And this is just icing on the cake some of you know about. But hey!, I can see well enough to read, watch movies (at home), and walk around on my own. I was even able to do a little gym climbing a little over a week ago!
Life is looking a lot better right now. Maybe when I get some test results back, I can set a goal on CLIMBING FOR REAL!!!
This post may sound like a whine-fest. But it's truly not intended in that way. I'm so freakin psyched cause this is a step forward to where I can climb again! Hubby promised me a Hueco trip if I can get well!!!
