hot sauce

hot sauce

Postby skav » Fri Aug 06, 2010 7:55 pm

Let's have em. Everyone knows the run of the mill hot sauces. They're mostly weaksauce. I don't care about those. I want sauces that are actually hot, not some vinegar that accidentally got pepper in it. I don't mind if it adds some flavor, but sauces that just add heat would be ideal.

Now post up while I go eat tacos.

Historically, my dad would use Dave's Insanity Sauce for good heat. Dip toothpick in jar, remove, swirl around in desired dish, sweat.

I started this thread because I ran out of Baboon Ass. Shits good. But I need to order it to get it in Flagstaff as far as I know, so I figured if I'm gonna be ordering hotsauce I may as well order the good shit.

Hijacking this thread to talk about other things related to food. Go on the internets (if you're reading this you're already on them!) and look up Dizzy Dust. There are a lot of various mixes and rubs that add wonderful depth and flavor to a variety of things. I added some Jamaican Firewalk to a bowl kraft macaroni and cheese (the cheesiest!) once and it was like tasting your mom's snatch for the first time.

I don't really like the concentrated sauces too much but pretty much any habanero based sauce should give plenty of heat and also have a decent flavor. I find they go better with chicken and fish opposed to red meat.

Always have the Valentina on hand. Mostly only use it for eggs though. I don't like the way the flavor shows up in sauces.
