Age and treachery will always over come youth and stamina. Besides I heard Sam Davis quite climbing anyway.

This is news? Who hasn't burned Sam Davis off, especially at the draw? Except weighted pullups. Boi is swole on sum pullups.

He's taking some good pics these days, though.

pretty much anyone who buys a digital SLR and photoshop is getting published in the "mags" these days. I've seen alot of "photographers" with little to no talent get published simpy because they could afford expensive equipment. Says alot about our "sport".

Photography: It's accessible!

I would rather see a bunch of alright shots from different folks on different stones than photo essays on whatever some bleeding edge dirtbag is working. That said, the only good climbing mag was Alpinist.

hmmmmmmm...............

actually fewer climbing photographers are getting published now than ever before. the economy makes it hard for the industry to support more than just a few regulars.

in my experience - it's really hard to get published in the mags.

probably harder and less likely than most of your proudest ascents.

however, it seems as though it would be easier if one could afford the best equipment - but i've never had that, so i wouldn't know.

i'm pretty sure my equipment is superior to sammy's.

great job sammy!

Yea, but you take pics of LCC granite. Set is aspen groves. Or near creeks. I mean fuck, you'd have to try not to take decent shots.

Making shots of the Draw look good takes some serious skill. Or luck.

Speaking of the draw, Saturday?

Maybe MTB tomorrow afternoon... weather dependent of course (and if I can escape work and get to Flag early enough)

Are you a 41 year old who rides a shitton at altitude... or are you just out pokin' around like me?

There are some 55 and 65 year old people in this town that will outrun/outbike/outski the shit outta you. Some old honemasters that will outcrank you too. Me? I poke around the woods.

Speaking of poking around, any trail recommendations? Stuff on Elden looks pretty cool...

Not sure when we'll get there tomorrow. Draw for sure Saturday after Brandy's brekky starch load sandbag.

Lower Oldham to Rocky Ridge is a fun short ride. Easy to start and hard/technical at the end. Most of the system trails around Elden are good.
