yeah and woody harrelson's character would have never left the lobby and gone back to the hotel room knowing he's just going to get killed anyway - IRL - either.

so what?

it's a roller-coaster ride.

whee!

awesome.

you'd be hard-pressed to take a risk and say you like anything - now wouldn't you, porchie?

I was only vaguely aware of the buzz of this movie, and had never seen a preview. But I read a pretty glowing review in the local rag and had the chance to catch Inception this weekend. And........it was definitely on of the best movies I've seen a while. The story was interesting and well pieced together. It is complex and makes you think and connect the dots without being completely indecipherable on first viewing (as opposed to something like Donnie Darko, which I enjoyed watching the first time, but at the end was wondering wtf did I just watch). Some amazing effects and stunning cinematography. Not predictable cookie cutter crap like most Hollywood movies and esp. big summer blockbusters.

Of course, my bar is set pretty low. Maybe I was blown away by the big screen and loud speakers since most of my media is consumed on a 14" laptop with shitty speakers. And the last movie I saw at a theater - this is hard to confess, but I went with my aunts while visiting family - was Prince of Persia, which might be the single worst movie I've ever seen. Ever. Seriously.

totally NOT worth my $15 to see it in "Imax."

it was definitely predictable at times. sure some of the effects were good, as was the cinematography in general. it wasn't the "most original movie in ages" that everyone keeps heralding it as. my recommendation is wait to netflix it.

Memento = way better.

It only takes one watch of Avatar on your home TV to understand that 3D is a dead medium already. It's so horrible, you can't even believe it's the highest grossing movie of all time.

Ees good, not groundbreaking. Definitely worth seeing on the big screen, acting is solid through the film, excellent cinematography, and nice use of music.

It is an excellent example of a good, engaging, and entertaining summer blockbuster.

Who watches things in 3D anyway?

I think the stupidest thing is TV companies making 3D shit you have to wear glasses at home to watch. I'm not going to put on special goggles to catch a few minutes of sportscenter as I get dressed in the morning. Get fucking real.

The dream: That we'll all toss our HDV flat screens < 3 yrs old for new 3D displays.
This is the plan for saving the consumer economy?

Well, I think that a 3D capable TV is a waste of money. If I was going to watch something in 3D, I might go to a movie, if I cared enough. I figure being out an extra $6 bucks a ticket and a dollar each for the wife and I to sit through a 3D experience is better than thousands of bucks to bring the 3D home to me. ESPN runs an ad with a dude in 3D glasses eating cereal. I can't even imagine.

Plus too much 3D is headache central.
