my guess is: overhyped summer blockbuster par usual relies on cool looking catchy trailer to lure in bored fat people who need a bad excuse to guzzle soda pop and buttered popcorn.

maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised but I won't be giving the producers the benefit of the doubt to the tune of the ticket price. it will probably sit on the end of our netflix queue for a year before we get around to watching in.

whats your guess?

every movie that has been called "SO GOOOD! over the last 4 or 5 years has been so incredibly underwhelming. With a few exceptions like No Country of course. But there are very few exceptions. Honestly in my opinion, the last "blockbuster" that lived up to the hype was Revenge of the Sith.

i was never a big fan of teh matrix, and this just looks like matrix squared.

pretty much any time you see a commercial for a movie - it's gonna suck.

if the movie isn't good enough to create it's own buzz............

basically i agree with youz guyz.

+1 on no country, but duh - right?

movies pretty much suck?

the intardweb and teh HBO killed the movie star.

give me

youtube,

deadwood

and

the wire.

PS -

No Country for Old Men is the most overrated move ever.

starring the most over-hyped actor ever, Javier Bardem.

I liked No country, specifically because it took what was once a screenplay that became a novel by one of the more impressive fiction writers working today and improved upon it, adding depth to characters and scenes that are only peripheral or transitional in the source material. Also, it's beautifully shot--though no more than its main rival that year.

I'm confused, but if there is a movie called Conception with Penelope Cruz, I'm there.

I knew some n00b fish would take the bait ...

Listen .. Star Wars was brilliantly conceived. The story was written in the early 70's. that includes episodes 1 - 6. As far as marketing and producing the movie? It was genious. And if you don't think so, you might want to look up the definition. It's not a film man .. it's a movie. It's entertainment. And Revenge of the Sith was easily as good as The Empire Strikes back. If you went into Star Wars looking for brilliant film making, you completely missed the point.

i was just wondering if the engine of a "plane" would be driving a propeller or a jet fan?
