Tax breaks may not be technically the same as a subsidy, but the end result is the same. The government "gives" you funds, whether in a handout or a rebate you wouln't otherwise get. The Bush tax cuts (breaks) were designed to subsidize the purchase of consumer goods and stimulate growth.

These issue can be discussed civilly. I challenge you all to do that.

Say we both start a sole proprietorship at the same time selling the same product.

After a certain amount of time I decide I want to become a corporation so I can raise capital and expand. You remain a Proprietorship.

I sell thousands of shares and with my new capital I expand my business to new markets and grow my workforce. You remain a proprietorship.

Reducing the issue of tax policy to simple panem et circenses is a bit disingenuous. If that money is going towards things that provide actual societal benefits, even if not directly, it may be well spent.

Let's start with this - when Bush and co were pushing for the big tax cuts, we were told repeatedly that cutting taxes would result in unprecedented job growth, rise in GDP, and a swelling of the US Treasury from increased tax revenue. Standard right wing economic "theory". How did that work out?

Cue the same people who told us that the rising tide lifts all boats (it didn't, not in the 80s and not now) now crowing about how if we let the tax cuts expire, it will kill the economy, ruin small businesses everywhere, chickenlittlechickenlittle.

how is it that i pay $10,550 / year in medical benefits (including Medicare) and another $20,000+ in fed and state taxes, 8% everytime i spend a $1 in this state, god knows what when i buy gas, beer, electricity, water, natural gas... over $40,000 in taxes a year. not to mention OUTRAGEOUS car insurance 'cuz all of your shiteater illegals have to SUBSIDIZED because they don't pay but they sure as FUCK crash (and get back to Oaxaca in less than 24hrs). yet when someone sends money back (which i didn't get), it's somehow a "gift"?! are you fucking insane?
