Photography of sorts

I had a Canon G10 recommended to me about a year ago.

They are pretty pimp, what with the size of the screen and the megapixelz and the relative price.

Suggestion ignored due to non-HD video. Thanks for trying!

Just because I want a point and shoot doesn't mean I'm getting rid of my DSLR gear.

After "reading" twitter for like 5 minutes today, I am inclined to agree.

Especially stuff you do!

Reading twitter is more of a dab than photographing a culture different than my own.

How's the response time from moment you press the button to actually taking the photo?

Seems very slow to me being used to the SLR, but people say it is quick for a P&S (maybe 1/4 of a second?)

It takes a little under a second to boot up and take a pic from off.

Flip camera is the bargain benchmark for HD video. 150 bux and not TOO bad.

I know nothing about point and shoots.

Is that useful info? dunno.

I'm seriously considering the SX1 IS now that my G9 "lens error"ed on me. Dab. Seems nice and fast. A bit big though unfortunately. The SX20 IS seems OK but less HD and no RAW. Dab. My ideal would be a G11 type machine with HD and time lapse...

I have the Flip HD and I'm less than thrilled. But you're right in that it's not TOO bad. It's just not TOO great, either.

so while hanging out this past weekend, waiting for fishermen to dry off and screw up the courage to fish again in what would turn out to be a non-starter pilot for a fishing show, we got some pictures of a dog to test out the homemade underwater camera rig. it works pretty good- one change we need to make is to add weights to the bottom of the box to make it neutrally bouyant.
