it was my old roomates, hes moving to europe for a while and asked me to take care of it. ie, replace shit and fix it up.

i actually wrecked it while it was still in austin...going about 15mph and hit some gravel. went down so hard. So i'll likely be modding, swapping out parts and getting it nice again. its a sweet ride fo sho. loud as fuckall too.

left work friday night at 3.30pm, drove until i got to the texas oklahoma border around 3am. crashed in teh back of the 4runner and woke up at 8am. got to denver at 1, got the uhaul, packed up the duc and a sweet nishiki single speed. ate a damn good dinner at Root Down during restaurant week and left straight from dinner. got back into austin at 7pm sunday. spent the entire weekend in the car, driving and sleeping and dodging tumbleweeds outside amarillo. exhausted.

started it up last night as soon as i got it off the trailer, took it for a spin around the block. flicked the wrist in second gear, the smile was from ear to ear. worth every miserable second in the car all weekend. motorcycles are just way too much fun. this is what it looked like before i wrecked it two years ago. has a bunch of new ish on it now tho...

checked out the streetfighter last weekend. its a lot smaller in person and the riding position is a bit more aggressive than i like, it pushes my nuts up against the tank and has me leaned way over....its nice tho. haha, shit, its really nice. the omfg hypermotard is redic, just about perfect in every way as long as you dont have to be on it more than an hour at a time.

I plan to do all of my own work on my bike. I'm slowly getting all the tools I need and have done a few little maintenance things already. I also plan to modify it a bit. My neighbor has a lift I can use anytime. That's part of the fun of having a bike, taking care of it yourself.

Either that or I'm cheap.

zen and moto maintenance, ahhh. so fun to work on motors.

some things i cant do tho, timing the shifter to the tranny, adjusting the valves, making sure the top triple is alligned, dyno tune the exhaust...$$$.

changing out sprokets, clutches, chains, brakes and belts, nbd on a bike. such a nice day out, cant wait to go riding.

I also plan to modify it a bit. My neighbor has a lift I can use anytime. That's part of the fun of having a bike, taking care of it yourself.
