Rumors are funny. 28MP? That's seems stupid dense, even for such a nice sized sensor. And assuming any truth, no 60fps 1080p video. Sad!

* 28megapixel CMOS sensor. Achieved by introducing new technologies such as low-noise photodiode
* Sensor Size 36.0 × 24.0mm 1.0x
* Wide low-noise ISO sensitivity ISO100 ~ 12800 (extension L: 50, H1: 25600, H2: 51200, H3: 102400)
* The six frames * Dual DIGIC4 / s provides continuous shooting
* 98 percent of the viewfinder field of view, magnification 0.71 times. With the electronic level
* A high-speed AF system. Double Cross Centre, Cross assists 19 points – 26 points. 5 AF point selection mode, types of automatic. Advanced AI Servo AF
* 63-segment metering. 1920 × 1080 30/25/24 frame Video
* Crop video feature. 10X SD, HD four times, three times in full HD.

And how about some high speed video capabilities? 480p at a few hundred (or thousand) fps? Seems like a great idea to me. FFS, there's a P&S that does something like this, albeit at a pathetically low resolution. But still!

I demand more from a $3K piece of equipment.

nice contrast.

yeah pmahn I think the new 5d will make strides more on the video interface and the audio capabilities... It will still bring down the price on the markII though.

I've read a number of reviews that say the 550D is as good, if not better than the 7D, in terms of low-light performance, IQ, etc. Obviously the 7D has weather sealing and whatnot, but maybe the 550D would keep you amused for a couple of years and save you some money for good glass?

PS, my sigma 30mm f/1.4 is the ducks nuts. I just need to get out and use it...
