all in for scorched fish eye balls.

there are few of life's problems that an icecream pancake machine won't solve.

For Slim:

The BBQ Sauce

Brown 4 spare ribs in your french oven on stove top and reserve
Deglaze with white wine
Turn heat to low
Add small can tomato paste, cup of orange juice, splash of red wine vinegar, stir
Allow mixture to simmer

Add the following to taste:

Mustard
Worchestershire Sauce
Soy Sauce
Hot Sauce
Chili Powder/paste
Black Pepper
Red Pepper
Hickory Smoked Salt (instead of smoke flavor)
Seasoned Salt
Lemon Juice
Brown Sugar

Stir this mixture up and let it simmer down a bit until it thickens. You can either then put the shortribs back in the sauce and bake for 45 minutes covered on 350 degrees or slather the shortribs with the sauce and grill. I suppose you could also use any beef that will give you the good char, but I think using the beef as a base works well. Also, the orange juice makes it a little citrusy, so if you want to minimize that you can add in chicken broth instead. Enjoy!

For those without a marketing degree: A french oven is just a dutch oven with image problems.

For those that are hungry: That recipe sounds really good.

The enamel surface is an improvement on the dutch oven though. More versatile. Proceed.

Plus a french oven does not take coals on top... fundamental difference.

Incorrect.

It's manufactured in France with a design that would otherwise be called "dutch". All I'm saying here is that your cookware is a nationalistic surrender monkey. You need to be aware of these things when you're in the kitchen.

That's funny because there are lots of "coal on top" dutch oven recipes that will never see my French oven.

Not to mention the French oven is actually more flat-bottomed kettle instead of classic three-legged design of the Dutch oven.

Differences. They mean stuff.

creuset pots rock domes. tuesday morning has the best deal, at least thats the cheapest i could find.

i cook whole chickens in there...bottom of the pot looks destroyed but it never is. those pots are amazing.

cast iron skillet, creuset pot, shun knife and a good bottle of wine, life cant get much better. well, after a day of climbing at least.

im with you bug, calphalon is a solid bang for your buck. but i default to the creuset pot daily and its pretty incredible what you can make in there...not to mention how easy it is to make it taste good.

grilled salmon with buttery lime sauce
fingerling potatoes in rendered bacon and shallot
brocollini w garlic

homebrew stout. im fat.
