about the same time here actually, 2002 in Gatineau and Val David. the 90s were eye opening. rampage set a tone for road trips. i think it was late 90s .

on a maintenance schedule now. every other day climbing. otherwise it's aerobics. jane fonda killed it in the 80s. watch out for your fate surf heroes!

I'd say late 90s for North and CenTex, from what I saw. Maybe a bit earlier for the OK areas I was going to.

For me, 98 was I guess my first good year off a rope. On an uptick right now, and psyched.

Most of the better areas were developed in the late 90's .. Which is why bouldering blew up in the 2000's. But I have no real answer to this very serious question.

When I sent Try Again. Been a steady downward slide ever since.
