Injury rehab - dislocated and fractured ulna

Tell me to bugger off if necessary, but I was hoping someone here might have some relevant advice or experiences concerning going from an arm in a sling to V13.

Any tips or experiences about keeping my left arm strong and recovering fully? I started physical therapy today (injury was eight days ago near North Conway, NH) and I am allowed to work on range of motion, play guitar, and squeeze with my hand...until it hurts too much.

If you don't know anything, just give me false hope; I was in the best climbing shape of my life nine days ago and had barely started projecting.

its just a bone! work on the 12oz curls, you'll heal and climb again.

No experience with that injury, but just keep on the rehab plan, eat lots of pills, and stop complaining.

And what are the painful details of your demise? Up near North Conway it seems pretty likely you had a bondage accident...

All bear-wrestling and trad decking stories aside, I learned that when bouldering, my instinct is to fall safely to the best of my ability. When excitedly walking in flip-flops to a river at midnight with my first beer in one hand and several more in a backpack, my instinct is to save the beer. And so I did, absorbing most of the lowball impact with my elbow as the pine-needly slope flew my flip-flops forward.

So many one-arm pullups. So many. I'm working full-time at a climbing wall this summer so now all I do is spew beta, tell people to train harder, and hang from my already unbalanced arm.

Also, heal up.

Jeezum. Good to hear, though.

Eh, they said 6 weeks for bone to heal and "three months minimum" for ligaments to heal...more months for strength to come back.

I am skeptical because that really sucks and, goddammit, don't they whose arm this is?? Maybe I should see a sports therapist rather than an kind old 4-foot-6 woman.

exactly. It's like sending without a photog present. Whats the point?

If a project goes down in the woods and there's no one there to photograph it .. did it really get sent?
