It's a good place. The locals are really nice and will wave as you drive by. I didn't boulder there much.

There were two different 10MB pdf guides one click away from like the 3rd or 4th result down. Most of it looked like chuffery but it's southern Idaho epic granite, just go boulder their TR's and chop the anchor bolts.

And a better query (I'll leave out the dickhead LMGTFY link this time) produced a #1 result of:

Heavily patina'd bolders up at Ampitheatre Lake (Cathedral Pass) in the Peseyton would have to be in the discussion for best granite boldering in WA state. 25+ mile hike in keeps the spray down tho.

Base of this pile...

except for the lack of numerous quality problems, Bald Mtn is my choice for best quality stone in state.

remarkably cool and breezy temps in Lworth this weekend.
icicle road slides are cleared.
lots of big virgin white never-been-scorched-granite-boulders unearthed up in those slide zones.

I wouldn't count on Castle Rock being ideal right now, not as hot as Tejas, but still warm....you can have a good time chasing shade up there or bouldering early in the morning. Also, it's a day area with a state park fee and no camping. City of Rocks camping is crowded though, and generally reservations are required in the warmer months.

Problems have been climbed and named and re-climbed and renamed up there. Wikiboulder should have accurate info as the creator did some (quality) FA's. The scuttlebutt was that the climbidaho crew were the ones doing the renaming. Whatever.

Jun and I did a shitload of bouldering up there 7 years ago, fun place and a cool part of Idaho.
