are we like talking the channel islands off of northern california?

we're talking frigid waters even in summer.

the islands that i am talking about are a protected wilderness area for great white shark mating or something like that.

you should go check it out and then report back with pix.

Channel island are off of southern California (LA/Ventura). I don't imagine they would like you climb that stuff.

Have not been there (of course) but have spent time on Catalina (which I think is the southernmost of the Channel Islands). if the rock there is anything like on Catalina - choss is a serious understatement.

On the other hand, friends have said that there are some really good reef breaks at Santa Cruz Island. Way too fucking cold for me.

Uberchoss... I paddled out to Anacapa from Ventura on a Kayak and have been to Santa Cruz island as well and there is no climbing. Anacapa island is also one of the most boring islands on the planet. There was a fire there a few years back and the only things that survived are Ice plant seagulls and one other thing I can't remember. Getting there was fun though. Santa Cruz however is awesome and both can be fun as long as you bring a Kayak.

Also, Santa Barbara is Socal. It's like a less annoying hybrid version though.

Yeah I'm heading down for work in a few weeks, I never plan on climbing while I'm there. I really don't plan on doing anything but sit in traffic and look cool.
