Yes, I know how inherently ghey this topic is, fuck you. Now that we have that out of the way, my friend started a new non profit boldering gym in town and I ended up getting involved. Don't have a current pic but to ensure this thread hits 100 on the FML scale, the framework of the playground:





So yeah, my last pairs of UFO2's hit the recycle bin, wore all the way thru the leather. And none of my other shoes fit or are any good in the gym, ie multipitch granite shoes. So what's up with the following? Also want something good for boldering outside, granite and chossy basalt.

i have nothing to say about any of those shoes, but i want your friend to come over and build my home wall.

That's about 20 people's efforts, including mine. And that's only about half of it. And we're already looking at expanding, as the membership cap of 80 just got met.

Yeah, cuz trying to toe into little scoops on the 60 degree wall in Boreal Aces or Scarpa ankle high offwidth shoes works so well. Props for bringing a small sample of the derision this thread would have generated 3 years ago. 2/10.

@ Pmahnn, birthing chamber slot thru the roof into a 30' cave is the gameplan. After the downstairs doubles in size from 1000' to 2000'.

Pfft. Like Mad Rocks or Saltics are going to a better job than Aces or the high tops. And like problems in a gym are ever set for people to use their feet; if they were, then gyms would be useful to people who like to do things besides tear their rotator cuffs.

the more relevant question: What kind of harness are you going to wear while you're bouldering in the gym? You should color coordinate it with your membership card to it looks good when it's attached to the gear loop.

shit .. over 40* and I wouldn't use anything less than 2x8. especially if it's 2 panels or more.

Most of that steep shit is 2x8. Those do grown in trees up here, btw.
