If it doesn't snow I'm so going to punch you in the face next time I see you. That's a 20% chance of bludgeoning if you are anywhere close to accurate.

Last week we had snow "predicted" every day (according to my iGoogle homepage, which is the only forecast I ever see). We got a couple inches one day and a dusting a few days later.

I'm hoping that I can follow the same formula and tomorrow's sunny 47 will acutally be a raging snowstorm.

Meteorology != science*

(the minute meteorologists start saying things like "it is science, it's just not an exact science" you know you're in trouble as an "in-exact science" is clearly an oxymoron).

funny you should mention that...

i was discussing political/environmental issues with a friend the other day. i was explaining to him that America is the "bread basket of the world". we produce insane amounts of food (albeit in a Faustian 'debt financing' type of way). the agriculture markets here are not highly regulated by supply / demand economics. that is, naturally occurring market forces do not dictate crop production. there are price floors and ceilings put on products. that is, production is government regulated through the market.

i hypothesized me being "king of america" and how i would change this. i'd let it run wild and free. and he was like "Well farmers would go out of business." my concern with this is the property; America's biggest best natural resource is it's fertile soil. I was like "The land would have to be owned and allowed to fallow." so there WOULD be some government hand in it 'cuz you don't want a GOD DAMNED STRIP MALL GOING UP THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

i could talk about this for hours, but i need to drag my bozack to the gym. *toodles*
