Diagnose my shoulder injury!

Little help? I injured my shoulder cranking on a left gaston a few weeks back and now get really sharp pain in my left shoulder when pulling a high gaston with my left hand. No pain on resting. Never had shoulder probs before and its freaking me out a bit. Couldn't find anything online. Any help, or alternatively anything funny would be... well helpful, or funny.
Thanks
BAZ

Wow, you're a n00b, so I'll cut you some slack. But here it goes...

R est
I ce
C ompression
E levation

As far as I'm concerned, the rest part is the most important part. You can take anti-inflammatories, fish oil, and all kinds of other stuff, and that may help. But the main thing is to let your body heal.

And if it doesn't heal on its own in a reasonable amount of time, see an MD.

I think probably 99.99% of us in here have at some point or another had a tweaked shoulder. We've all been there, and we've probably all had different versions of shoulder injuries. But the main thing is, let it heal. And if it doesn't, find out why.

As another guess: perhaps you have sprained a muscle in such a way that high gastons cause you pain? As to fixing it: rest is likely going to be the only way to make it go away. For real rest and not "climbing but just not that hard". I will have to disagree with Betty here and say I think anti-inflammatory drugs and ice don't do anything but mask and mitigate the body's response to your injury. G'luck.

Yo, ice really helps at first. Rest. Sux. If Choppie's right then more sux. Elastic band rehab after rest period. Wank with the right.

which is inflammation, which, if left unchecked, can cause more problems than the original injury. the body is great not only at healing itself, but also at fucking itself up in the process too.

hahaha... lols.

baz, there's no diagnosing of it. there's a 50 things that could be wrong, all with similar symptoms. i had my injury for 17 years. torn capsule. 3 MRI's. tons of rehab / PT. when they finally cut it, they saw what was really wrong, which wasn't the same as a single post-MRI diagnosis.

I hear you are the definitive expert on which moderate bolder problems shut people down...

Makes sense, considering you "cut your teeth" on west virginia boldering.

The massive jug of a gaston that you were "cranking on" is obviously more of a man than you. you have pussyitis of the arm attachment area. take a shitload of red pepper.
