WTF do you need Perl for if you're developing a web CMS? PHP + Perl? Seriously.
for that matter, building your own CMS is insane given that they're like 3k CMS options out there (and at least 500 are free).

My perl scripting knows no bounds.
- Code: Select all
#!/usr/bin/perl
# Make a directory for this projects output files
system("mkdir \"e:\\library\\spss\\$ARGV[0]\";");
# Read the header and variable information from the SPSS dataset
system("spssread.pl -h $ARGV[0].sav > e:\\library\\spss\\$ARGV[0]\\header.txt");
system("spssread.pl -r $ARGV[0].sav > e:\\library\\spss\\$ARGV[0]\\variables.txt");
system("spssread.pl -l $ARGV[0].sav > e:\\library\\spss\\$ARGV[0]\\labels.txt");
# Create the R script to import/export the SPSS dataset
open(plfile, ">e:\\library\\spss\\$ARGV[0]\\code.r");
print plfile "library(foreign);\n";
print plfile "tfile <- read.spss(\"e:\\\\library\\\\spss\\\\$ARGV[0].sav\", use.value.labels = FALSE);\n";
print plfile "write.table(tfile,file=\"e:\\\\library\\\\spss\\\\$ARGV[0]\\\\output.txt\");\n";
close(plfile);
# Call R and execute the R script
system("R --no-save < \"e:\\library\\spss\\$ARGV[0]\\code.r\"");

I have a profound respect for people who can obfuscate code to such a degree.
