Abandoning your commuter rig to navigate Chicago's urban hell? Or just trying to ride something different?

No, I'm just joshin' ya. I bought that bike during my stint in KY for single track. But since moving to Chicago and not having a car there was little use. I have a car now that I can put this bike in and escape the concrete for some nice dirt trails.

Although it was smoooooooooooooth when I was testing it out. Just inefficient as hell on roads, as could be expected.

Did some singletrack this past weekend. Damn, it felt good. Took quite a few miles to get my body accustomed to it after having not ridden on dirt for around five years.

Also, think I'm going to put my 56T back on the roadie. Gold chains, bitches.

Don't know of many specifically for 27". One can usually get away with 700c fenders. There's about an 8mm difference. VO's aluminum fenders are cheap and easily reshaped.

Those compound bend woodys are pretty redonk though...

Is that a trail, or are you fat tiring a road?

Finally rode down the rock staircase on the trail from my house to my office without dabbing the other day... whoever built that fucker was inconsiderate of bikers or vastly more skilled than I am. Likely both. Next: UP!

I saw a kid eat it on the stairs under the milton bridge one. Hilarious. It's a two-set and he survived the first set but was wobbling and could not hold it together for the second set. Went right over the bars. Jumped up and started punching the air and screaming.

That set is sort of hard. You get to the bottom and want to swerve out but you're stuck on a 3ft sidewalk with walls on each side.
