I've been riding this section9 board i borrowed from a friend to get lunch and back at work. Are these things generally designed for cruising? How do you stop on a dime? I rip a lot of skin off my body when it gets really wobbly in traffic and I fall off. How do you ride them fast on steep, corrugated hills while maintaining the same speed in narrow zones?
You can make the gloves with some work gloves and cut up a plastic cutting board, or get some fancy ones pre-made. They are pretty awesome palm and wrist protection as well.
cheapest glove at home depot and then grab some corian samples (free). glue or velcro. not sure if the corian melts well, but if you use a cutting board, you can heat up the board with a camping stove and then set it to the glove. super easy.
yeah i actually rode through a pile of puke monday night. bottom of a hill, street lights were out. didnt see it. rained all day so i thought it was a puddle. was in a full tuck head down. was pretty stoked to not wipe out, kind of cool to have all that 'water' splash on my face without notice.
