Looks like you should stop beating that dog in the second photo, Ike. Can't you see him asking you that with his eyes?

oh ema.. ema ema ema. you got one of the "Holy Grail" of firearms. not that you would ever sell it - they sound like heirlooms - but is Colt 1911 (not an A1). looks to be in great condition. a no brainer at $5000.

that's a 'dream gun', tho i'd take an FBI issued (with markings) 1911 in .38 Super.

you are one lucky shit eating bastard. unbelievably so. that is one incredible piece of history. those were issued to Doughboys in The Great War. that's the pistol that Sgt. York fragged like 90 Krautz with.

evidence clearly suggest that i am not speechless. but WOW.. that is such a fucking gem. i don't even know if you know how sought after that particular piece is. clean and treat it with tlc. don't EVER let the texas humidity get to it. fucking sweet.

fucking original grips. do the magazines have lanyard / loops on them? that's the original issue style. lanyard ring on the main spring housing as well. if the mags have those, put one in and take a pic of the whole gun profile and send me a link so i whack off to it. you fucking FUCKING BASTARD.

It's not the gun, it's the artifact.

But you already knew that; you're just trying to piss off WB.

JUST got back from a 2 hr shooting session. 2 .45'z, .44, .357, .40.. and the first thing i did when i got back was look at your gun again. i just can't come to grips with the fact that you procured this thing. fucking amazing.

here's one on gunbroker, apparently sans original magazine (lanyard).
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... =141270319

un fucking believable. i can't believe you got that. my mind won't accept it.

i have a G.I. 1911A1 coming to me one day. U.S. Govt property. beautiful condition. no nicks, scratches, etc. been fired lots. all original. but in the hierarchy amazing guns to own, it simply doesn't compare to your 1911. dude.. you have THE GUN. the one that started them all. John Moses Browning at the military pistol trials, going up against Savage and Luger (LOL!!) and shitting on both of them. THAT is the gun.

i know you don't follow guns, but the NRA just did a "10 most influential pistols ever made". the 1911 got #1. some of the guns surprised me, but it's a lineage thing. i.e., what trends did the gun inspire. so there were some odd balls, but you can clearly see that "real" guns took from the oddballs and became legendary. for instance, Glock is one of the 10. makes sense.. everyone makes 1/2 plastic guns now.

but the 1911? there's like 40 different manufacturers of that same essential model TODAY. that thing got patented in 1911 - it's 2009. aside from some cosmetics (lanyard, sites, mainspring housing), it's still the same gun TODAY. fucking incredible testament to the design. the genius of Browning.

superlatives can't describe the shootability, the natural feel, the flawless function and the ass kicking knock down power of the 1911... 100 years from now, it'll still be THE GUN.

stoke for you man. and even more that it has family history. protect that thing very carefully and seriously. if you ever get to the point where you are so desperate that yer sucking dick for crack, i'll buy it from you.

the mauser is cool too. .32 acp or .380 acp (i.e., 9mm Kurz)?

ema, i still can't believe a shit dog like yourself got that. i just keep coming back on here to look at it. you got THE GUN. that's it. as far as commercial pieces go at least.

i'd still take Doc Holidays 7.5" Colt SAA in .45 Colt or Wild Bill's converted Navy Colts... but that is fantasy. like Lincoln's Henry rifles. pure fantasy. beyond money.

ema's gun is attainable (well, not his, but one just like it). but, despite my online persona, i am pretty conservative in monetary matters. i am not going to spend $4500 on a pistol.

still... wwwwWWWWwwwwoOOOoowwwww.. the skorage is .. i wouldn't leave the house all day. i'd just get drunk with that thing. sleep with it [near me]. that is such an incredible score, it has me jazzed. i mean, i'll never meet you or ever see that gun. but just the fact that you got it has me fired up. i can't fucking believe you got that. incredulous. stupified.

you should go rent the original "The Getaway" with Steve McQueen. a man who knew his hardware. that's what's on the movie poster, that is what he carried in the movie.

i know most or ALL of you don't get it. typically what you see in movies are 1911A1's. for instance, Pulp Fiction, those are actually Star 9mm - look like .45's, but they certainly are not. and in The Wild Bunch, again, Star 9mm.

Colt did re-start making the 1911 'bout 4 years ago. but they can not ship to California. Colt didn't cowtow to California''s liberal shit eater laws. i was definitely going to pony-up the $G for 1. not "replica" or "reproduction". same dies, molds, etc.. just a continuation of serial numbers and some different stamps (markings).

and, it'd be satisfactory and i'd be lot more inclined to shoot the hell out of it than an heirloom prize like ema got. ema, if you want to tell us or me any of the history of that piece, i would love LOVE to hear it. you can contact Colt and give them the serial number and they will give you the history on it.

i am seriously jazzed over that. you are one lucky fuckbag. i'm not even jealous. it's too inconceivable to be jealous about that.

a lot o' talk and no pics. here's some pics of the legendary El Paso mountains... "THERE'S GOLD IN THEM THAR HILLZ!!!". talk about camp fire stories.. WOW. men .. MEN.. have died, killed, murdered and everything else in deep (800' straight the fuck down) pits and holes. gone mad. starved. died of thirst. it's a brutal history out there. makes for good 4x4ing tho!

i got a small sampling of what the old boy who lives here had to say. and yes, he appreciates anything cold and wet, in particular scotch, soda, ice, etc, alcohol. but he'll tell you some shit, boyhowdy. he'll even tell you about how the Federal shit eater BLM is all about eradicating every single stitch of human history out there. shit eaters.

shit eaters oughta love this. hell, i'd even take a dump in it.

Oui, Paris! Despite the unbelievable number of fuktards, a truly beautiful city. I was there ten years ago and it made quite an impression. Might be living on the other side of the chunnel next year, kinda conflicted, yet psyched. You going to Font? Total dab if not.

Paris was a stop-over on the way back from India. Govt allows them if your flight is over a certain amount of time to allow for recovery. Had less than 24 hours there and was a co-worker so no climbing.

my time in Paris= 1.5 hours total running for flights in CDG + getting mocked and yelled at by Air France employees.

Yours was better, even without the Font.
