Now hiring, The Morbid Obeast!!!
How can someone cook that guy 36 eggs and a pound of bacon for breakfast everyday and then pick up his ca-ca since he can't get off his bed? That would get old quick...

Providing anesthesia for these people is a nightmare. The long-term sequelae of morbid obesity like Pickwickian Syndrome with polycythemia and pulmonary hypertension induced right-sided heart failure is obscene. The only thing worse than being fat is being stupid. You can't go on The Biggest Loser for stupidity. If you're stupid and fat, just give up.

Buddy of mine used to work as an ER nurse; he says that they had 2 individuals of 500+ pounds each who would come in every few months. Since they didn't have a bed that could hold them, the staff used a gurney from the loading dock and an old steel door to move them into and around the hospital. And every time these individuals had to come in, the fire dept had to be called to their homes to move them.

I think this is just sad; I mean, how is it possible that people can allow this to happen to themselves? There must be a combination of physiological, environmental, and personal problems.

Twinkies and Mountain Dew bro... mixed with a healthy dose of depression and self loathing.

It starts out with a little backfat and some moobs and ends up 600 lbs eating itself to death.

Could this be one of the few situations in which "cutting" is the healthier and smarter behavior?

One of the biggest problems that obese people face is that it's a fuck of a lot easier to get fat than to get thin. It's just plain difficult (in a physiological sense) to drop large amounts of body fat. And on top of that is the fact that being that fat makes it hard to move. I used to work in a health club and there were a few morbidly obese fellas there. One dude must have been in excess of 700 lbs (he was like 6'-8" though). one of the most pleasant people I ever met there, aside from the smell, and really dedicated to dropping weight. The problem for him was that, being close to 700 lbs, the types of exercises he could do were limited (i.e. couldn't really use any of the equipment other than the exercise bikes). So he would spend about two to three hours a day just riding the one bike he could fit on. Not sure if he ever lost weight, but the man was making an effort.

When I was working at a climbing gym years ago two huge fatties (not nearly as big as any of those photos, eeesh) actually bought memberships and dropped crazy amounts of weight. I think they were also hitting up the regular fitness center like three days a week or something. Maybe it was a gay lover new years resolution type of thing, but They definitely both lost at least 150 lbs just during the time I worked there. Apparently if you don't let yourself get over 400 lbs and commit to it, weight loss is possible.

Beyond a certain point though, you can't even feed yourself anymore. You need an accomplice to be super fat. That just strikes me as a type of abuse if you just keep feeding your fatty instead of taking them for walks. And check this out: fat releases estrogenic like hormones that make bitch tits more than just a funny nickname.

Ugh. There are few things that make me sadder and more upset than seeing young kids that are already way overweight. Raised on a steady diet of McDonalds and TV, they are doomed. You can look at their thick necks and the way they waddle on the playground, and you can see their future. I doubt very few of them will ever be truly happy.
