So I've heard the ice dip, hot dip is good for pain relief, blood flow, and tendon/pulley repair. I use ice pax just to soothe, but has anyone found the effort of the ice/warm dunk effective?
I've taken contrast showers (hot / cold / hot / cold) post workout ever since I started running as a kid and I think it helps with recovery quite a bit. Thinking about tendons that don't have good blood flow combined with age that warming the hands pre-workout - very hot water, long slow warmups, etc. is excellent injury prevention. Massage, contrast of hot and cold should be good for recovery post workout. For actual injuries I think avoid the heat as you are trying to minimize inflammation?
