when was the last time you climbed there? I do not seem to recall the kitty litter that you describe, I remember perfect patina to grainy topouts ... which isn't so much worse than the Hueco choss topouts, just different.

Of course, anytime in my lifetime I would be walking on decomposed granite sloughed from the bolders over the course of thousands of years of decomposition. You have to brush or blow the kitty litter out of the holds.

There is a reason that Hueco Tanks is a world class area, and only Californians think the Buttermilks compare. Deal.

What makes Hueco world class is certainly NOT its lack of choss.

In my mind, the milks don't compare because they don't have anywhere near the concentration, not because the rock is bad. The rock varies, but is excellent on many boulders. Don't be a hater.

Yo, which problems did you try on the tablelands? I remember swapping between the milk and pockets to shred tips, then carpal flappers in the flats.

Flyfish and hit up Mammoth on your rest days.
